CROSSED BORDERS IN ILIRSKA BISTRICA |
| |
The municipality of Ilirska Bistrica participates in the project by setting up a museum collection at the Prem Castle.
The Prem Caste stands in the village bearing the same name on a dominant position above the Reka river valley and is one of the few this well preserved Romanesque castles in Slovenia and in greater European region. The renovation works will be done on the castle stairwell and second floor, where the museum collection presenting the area’s medieval heritage is to be exhibited. Beside the museum collection, toilets and information office will be set up in the second floor. The multivision hall will be set up on the first floor.
Beside the Prem Castle, the Crossed Borders tourist project in the municipality will include a military collection on the armies present in the area between the hills Snežnik and Slavnik in the 20th century, and one of the many Illyrian ancient forts. There will be qualified guides, brochures and maps of the Crossed Borders project area for the tourist information.
In the context of the project the first event Medieval Bazaar was organised and will hopefully become a tradition. |
